Welcome to Bay Woof, January 2026

Fresh Year, Fresh Start!

Another year around the sun is marked by a falling ball too big for even a St. Bernard to chase. And while the challenges of 2025 were many, at least our dogs were right there with us, making the news easier to bear with plenty of tail wags, belly rubs, and their own special brand of unconditional love.

To help get a jump on the new year, our first edition of 2026 brings you Bay Woof’s annual Training Goals issue. Read up on some of our favorite dog pros’ science-based tips to help you and your beast stretch to the next level. Or maybe just stretch. On the trail or on the couch, we’re here for you either way.

We’d also like to extend a special thanks to all the readers and supporters who generously contributed to Bay Woof’s year-end fundraising campaign. Your endorsement means the world to us, ensuring we’ll be able to keep providing the top dog news from the Bay Area and beyond throughout the coming year. If you’d like to contribute and have not yet done so, it’s not too late – you’ll find multiple ways to contribute on this page, and all donations made through January 10 are matched up to $1,000, thanks to a generous supporter. We’re grateful for any and all contributions.

We hope the fresh calendar will bring nothing but goodness to you and your pups. May daily walks, off-leash romping, yummy treats, and plenty of naps sustain your joy and activism in 2026.

Happy New Year!
