Bay Woof Comes of Age

Hard to believe, but Bay Woof turns 18 this month. Is this what adulthood looks like? If so, we’re happy to have made it here with you! 

Of course, this publication wouldn’t even be a gleam in the eye of your favorite pup if it weren’t for all of you: our beloved readers, advertisers, and contributors. Thank you so much for your longtime support, and happy birthday to all of us!

Our March issue features an anniversary hodgepodge from many of our favorite dog-pro contributors. Sara Scott has important tips for managing dog reactivity. Grace Phillips gives a preview of the ever-popular Canine Science Symposium. Ren Volpe helps you rethink your approach to dog training. Dr. Kari DeLeeuw has the latest on bird flu and how it’s affecting - or not - our canine pals. Dr. Ken offers an in-depth look at canine dementia. The SF Animal Commission shares its appreciation for San Francisco animal lovers. And, of course, Mr. Smarty Pants, Red and Howling, and Nose For News are all there to round out the issue with a little fun. 

Finally, one special note of thanks. Last month we shared on social media that our February Welcome Wag supporting trans folks, queers, and immigrants had sparked blow back from some readers, causing our subscriptions to drop by a noticeable amount. But we’re happy to report that, after that post, our readers  stepped up tenfold with more subscriptions and donations, letting us know you stand with us for the rights of all people.  Your support in these challenging times means everything - so thank you.

May your month of March roar in like the lion-hearted Shar Pei and go out like the gentle Bedlington Terrier.
