Jackson, the Citywide Muse

Juanita More’s beloved Jackson has become the muse for the whole city. photo: Fred Rowe

It's been a few years since my boy Jackson the Frenchie passed away, yet I’m reminded of him every day. He was not only my sidekick but also a muse for numerous artist friends who captured and interpreted their love for him in so many beautiful ways. Throughout the city, I can still walk by murals featuring his adorable face. I can see him on posters created for my annual Pride Party, holiday cards, and postcards. All these images remind me of what a special little man he was, not just to me but to San Francisco’s artist community who loved him.
