Dogs in Sports
Welcome to Bay Woof, April 2022
The Sporting Life with Tail Wags
The dogs around Bay Woof headquarters may have their sporty moments but generally they’re happy doing whatever their people are doing. And frankly, none of us are moving in a competitive fashion unless you count the morning sprint to the coffeemaker or the standing leap for a slice of salami.
Fortunately for sportier types, this month’s issue brings you the goods on actual canine athletic events including two of the most exciting, Flyball and French Ring. We’ve also got tips on canine allergies and other ways to keep your pup in shape for everyday good times.
And speaking of good times, remember when we used to gather in crowds and have fun? Well, the optimistic parents at McAllister Elementary are hosting the return of DogFest, an annual fundraiser that brings all the dogs to the yard of Duboce Park here in San Francisco. It’s all set for April 23, and Bay Woof is a proud sponsor. Read more about it here and don’t miss the big smiles.
Elsewhere in the April issue, Good Dog! offers crucial guidance on how to break up a dog fight, Full Belly Bus lets us in on how it’s helping struggling pet owners in the city, and Nose for News rounds up the latest dog stories from near and far. Valley Humane checks in with Shelter Zone, Mr. Smarty Pants is his usual know-it-all self, and the Red and Howling comic will inspire you to keep your heart open and your marching shoes on as we pray for peace in these perilous times.
We all need a break from the news sometimes, so whether you’re dodging agility cones with your furry pal or just catching the big game together on the couch, we hope you enjoy this month’s Bay Woof. Stay safe, keep loving your dogs, and we’ll get through these rough spots together.
From the champion tail waggers at Bay Woof HQ - go team!
