The name of the dog in How the Grinch Stole Christmas is Max. He's also the Grinch's companion.
Mistletoe is dangerous if ingested by pets because of its berries. In small amounts, mistletoe poisoning can result in mild signs of gastrointestinal irritation, but larger amounts can result in more severe symptoms or even death. Poinsettias are mildly toxic to dogs because the sap found in its stems contains chemicals similar to those found in household detergents. Christmas Cactus is not poisonous to dogs, but any plant can cause gastrointestinal distress and the more a dog eats of it, the more distress it can cause.

The Bumpus Hounds in the 1983 film A Christmas Story are never named, but they supposedly numbered 785. The dogs ruined Christmas dinner for Ralphie and his family.
