Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center & Urgent Care Honors Veterans and Their Pets

In honor of Veterans Day on November 11, Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center & Urgent Care (BRVC) in San Ramon made a special effort to honor Bay Area veterans for the entire month by providing complimentary exams for their pets.

“We are proud to support the men and women of the armed services,” said James deLano, DVM, owner of BRVC. ”Camp Parks in Dublin has served our nation for decades and we are honored to take care of so many of the families and their pets who reside there.”

Pets can provide essential support to anyone dealing with physical and mental health issues, including veterans coping with problems that stem from their military service. Specially trained guide dogs, service dogs, and emotional support dogs provide both mental and physical help, easing the stress and suffering of our nation’s warriors once they return to civilian life.

According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, dogs can be especially helpful in easing the burden of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (for more details, visit ptsd.va.gov/public/treatment/cope/dogs_and_ptsd.asp).

Kudos to BRVC (webvets.com) for honoring local veterans by safeguarding the health of their pets.
